Visits bookshops, schools and other organisations to promote sales.

Inputs and processes data, edits text and illustrations on desktop publishing terminal; operates computer output devices for both print and E-publishing platforms.

Ensure that images and text are ready to print on various surface. Able to handle operation of prepress workflow with automation / graphic software.

Responsible for design specifications for individual books and magazines. Commissions illustrations and photographs. Marks up typescript for prepress and prepares rough page layouts and cover/jacket artwork. Prepares design work on publicity brochures and web page design.

Plans, schedules and controls workload making full use of all equipment, materials and labour throughout the factory. Co‑ordinates with clients. Carries out process planning for jobs and estimates the time requirements for operations. Ensures production schedules are met. Ensures materials of the correct quality are used, controls quality of printed work by measurement and statistical methods, and supervises final inspection.

Handles the design and layout of company publications and the jobs provided by customers (including staff bulletins, product brochures and promotion publications).
